Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) holds a significant place in our spiritual journey. It serves as a pivotal moment for us to acknowledge our wrongdoings, seek forgiveness, and embrace God's grace, propelling us forward.

While many individuals shy away from Confession due to apprehensions of judgment or shame, it is crucial to recognize that God's love is boundless, urging us to approach Him with sincerity and humility. Through Confession, we have the opportunity to mend our connections with both God and others, and to receive the grace and fortitude needed for a more fulfilling life.

Catholics are required to receive the Sacrament at least once per year. Everyone is encouraged to take advantage of this healing sacrament on a regular and frequent basis to enjoy God’s comfort and peace. Before you approach the confessional, it is helpful to make an examination of conscience to reflect on your relationship with God and people.

Our parish offers sacrament classes for children. Go to the Religious Education tab for more information.

Prayer of the Act of Contrition

My God,
I am sorry for my sins with all my heart.
In choosing to do wrong
and failing to do good,
I have sinned against you
whom I should love above all things.
I firmly intend, with your help,
to do penance,
to sin no more,
and to avoid whatever leads me to sin.
Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us.
In his name, my God, have mercy.

Amen.
