Diocese of Salt Lake City offers a guide for people with immigration needs
Eucharistic Ministers of Holy Communion play a vital role in the sacred act of distributing the Body and Blood of Christ during Mass, embodying the reverence and devotion of the faithful. Beyond their service in the church, these ministers are entrusted with the profound responsibility to mirror Jesus' commandment to love one's neighbor in their everyday interactions. This calling extends beyond the church walls, encouraging a life of compassion, kindness, and service to others that reflects the essence of Christian values. Imbued with the grace of their ministry, these ministers serve as beacons of Christ's love, both within the church community and out in the world.
Requirements
Individuals who choose to dedicate themselves to serving in this ministry are required to be fully initiated members of the Church. This means that they must have participated in and received the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. Being fully initiated in the Church ensures that those who serve in this ministry have a deep understanding and personal connection to their faith, allowing them to carry out their responsibilities with dedication and authenticity.
Training provided to new Eucharistic Ministers as well as experienced ones to explain and demonstrate how ministers help to prepare for Mass as well as the sequence in assisting the priest and deacon during the Eucharist Rite of the Mass.

Homebound Ministry
St. Thomas Aquinas warmly extends a heartfelt invitation to bring the spiritual nourishment of Holy Communion right to the doorsteps of individuals who may be facing health challenges that prevent them from venturing outside their homes. These ministers also take Holy Communion to Catholics residing in local care facilities, ensuring that no one is left without the opportunity to partake in this sacred ritual.
