Two Performances - 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church

Wintersongs is a cherished, yearly holiday tradition featuring the choral ensembles of Utah State University performing some of the most beautiful holiday choral music ever written.

This year, the choirs are joined by the USU Low Brass Choir which will perform music from the Singers Unlimited Christmas album arranged for brass. The Women's Choir will feature a lovely setting of Coventry Carol and an arrangement of Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas by Women's Choir director, Luke Shepherd.

University Chorale will raise the roof with a spirited arrangement of Go Tell It On The Mountain, as well as lush carols arranged by Stephen Paulus and Robert Shaw.

The Chamber Singers will preview selections from their upcoming Christmas album ON A COLD WINTER'S NIGHT including an intimate new setting of There Is No Rose by Alan Smith, a haunting arrangement of the Huron Carol by Dale Warland and a lively setting of Where Riches Is Everlastingly by one of Britain's hottest choral composers, Bob Chilcott.

As always, the evening will feature the St. Thomas Aquinas organ as well as piano, percussion, English hand bells and candles. Begin your holiday celebrations with beautiful holiday music enhanced by the stunning acoustics of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

Admission is free and open to the public.

Donations to the choirs at USU are accepted.

The concert will also be recorded for broadcast on Utah Public Radio (Dec. 22 at 9:00 p.m. and Dec. 24 at 7:00 p.m.). Because this concert will be recorded, please, no children under 8 years old.
